MCO Day 39: Made Yellow Curry Mee for lunch today. Used Kak Lizar's Yellow Curry paste. Bought via @grabmy > Pasar TTDI - Lizar Chilli #notapaidpost. With this ready to cook paste, it is life changing in the kitchen. So easy to prep & cook. As the paste is enough to make 5 portions, I added minced garlic (half clove), ginger (approx. 1.5 inch) & 1 red onion & additional 500ml water. p/s: Go ahead and judge my choice of song for this video. Find it amusing Haha.. Cheers & stay safe during this MCO. #dinewithannna #livetoeat #annnacooks #lizarchilli #homecook #yellowcurry #🥘

MCO Day 37: Made some apam balik for breakfast. Thanks to @tiffnakita for sharing the recipe. I've improvised it a little to suit the kitchen tools & tastes at home. Initially cooked using the pan but due to the uneven heat or maybe pan/cook problem, the surface of the pancake not as even & nice. Hence, I switched to the pancake machine which made the apam balik looking more like Doraemon's doriyaki lol. Anyway, quite a fun experience & I'll make this again but using the pancake machine and perhaps play around with the filling with addition of choc chips, cheese, etc.. Recipe: Ingredients: A. Pancake batter 2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 cup sugar 1 egg 1 cup buttermilk 1/2 cup water (if not using buttermilk, just use 1 cup water) 1 tsp vanilla essence B. Fillings 1/2 cup peanuts (roasted & grind) sugar (up to your taste) **sesame seeds (optional. I added for extra fragrant) #dinewithannna #livetoeat #annnacooks #mco #apambalik #asianpancake #peanutpancake

MCO Day 35: Cooked Nasi Briyani Chicken but it ended up more like Buburiyani. First time cooking it using with the steamer rice cooker. Over estimated the water & the you have it - Buburiyani Ayam lol. Normally, I used Philips pressure cooker (fail proof). Had to improvise some of the ingredients as I don't have a complete spice rack. Substituted chili powder with paprika. Omitted mint leaves, green chillies, cloves & cumin as we don't have these at home. Ingredients: Vegetable Oil Bay Leaf Star Anis Cinnamon Stick Cloves Cumin Garlic & Ginger paste Sliced Onion Chopped Tomatoes Coriander Mint Leaves Green Chillies Chilli Powder Turmeric Garam Masala Salt Lime Juice **Raisins (optional) Chicken Marinade: Chicken (with skin on) Greek yogurt Turmeric Chilli powder Garam Masala Salt Rice: 2 cups Basmati Rice (soak for 20 mins) 3-4 cups water (depending on ur rice cooker, also take in consideration liquid from chicken gravy) Measurement: Agak agak la Directions: as per video lol #annnacooks #mco #nasibriyani #briyaniayam #homecookbriyani #buburiyani
